The Need of Radon Mitigation in Schools in Madison

A deadly gas has infiltrated many of our schools in Madison and other schools across the nation.

This gas is responsible for killing 20,000 people across the nation each and every single year. In addition, this gas infiltrates one out of every fifteen homes, and one out of every five schools. One out of every seven cases of lung cancer are caused by this gas. You are probably thinking this is some type of cigarette smoke, or dangerous vapor we are already aware of. Radon mitigation in schools is the only way that we can be for certain that our children are not breathing in a horrible gas. With mitigation we know that our schools are a safe place for all to learn and teach.

The solution to this problem is having a bill passed that will provide radon mitigation in schools. Currently, a bill is being proposed by a member of congress from Iowa. If passed, every school will receive the necessary funding for radon testing. This will help us get a grip on which schools are affected as testing is the only way to know if a school has high gas levels.

How Effective Radon Mitigation in Schools can be

Schools that have high levels will receive additional grant funding for radon mitigation in schools. This way we are for certain that all of our schools across the nation have safe levels of gas, and that everyone is protected. This system would also ensure that funding is not taken from the education of our children, so every child will still receive the high level of education they deserve in America.

In order for Madison, WI residents to help this bill pass, we need you to write letter to congress members, and local politicians explaining the need and importance for radon mitigation in schools. With the high levels of gas affecting one out of every five schools, it is very apparent that something needs to be done. With the dramatic health effects that radon has, we need to take action in order to prevent lung cancer from taking the lives of tens of thousands of people each and every year. S.W.A.T. Environmental is ready to do our part in radon mitigation in schools, so do yours and write a letter to a congress member today for safer schools in Madison, WI.
